The IRE Project: A Living Legacy of Carolee Ngozi Wosu, MD
The IRE Project is not a traditional foundation, nor will it be governed by a formal board of directors. Instead, it operates as a chapter of ASPIRE Beyond Borders, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The project will collaborate with a select group of organizations that share the core values of the late Carolee Ngozi Wosu, MD, and align with the mission of ASPIRE Beyond Borders.
Focused on quietly and selflessly serving those in need, the IRE Project honors Ngozi’s legacy by promoting resilience, fostering a positive attitude in life, and celebrating the success of others. It encourages nurturing children and cultivating a spirit of unity and inclusivity, while rejecting bitterness and anger based on assumptions. By emphasizing these values, the IRE Project strives to create a world where different cultures are celebrated and supported.

Proposed Plan for The IRE Project: A Living Legacy of Carolee Ngozi Wosu, MD
The IRE Project is designed to honor the life and mission of the late Dr. Carolee Ngozi Wosu, MD, by continuing her legacy of service, resilience, and inclusivity. In alignment with the mission of ASPIRE Beyond Borders, this project focuses on collaborative efforts with like-minded organizations to promote the values that Ngozi championed. Below is the plan and goals set for the implementation and growth of the IRE Project:
1. Establishing the Project’s Structure
Objective: Ensure the IRE Project operates effectively under ASPIRE Beyond Borders while collaborating with aligned organizations.
Chapter Status: The IRE Project will function as a chapter of ASPIRE Beyond Borders, allowing it to leverage the 501(c)(3) status and resources while maintaining flexibility in its operations.
Organizational Partnerships: Form strategic partnerships with a select group of organizations that share similar values and goals (e.g., child welfare, cultural inclusivity, resilience). These partnerships will be integral to the success of the project, focusing on shared initiatives and outcomes.
Steering Committee: While the project won’t have a formal board of directors, a small steering committee of dedicated volunteers and key partners will be established to guide major decisions, ensuring the project stays aligned with its mission and values.
2. Defining the Core Values and Goals
Objective: Promote and instill the values that defined Ngozi’s mission and continue her work with underserved communities.

A self-taught photographer, Jonathan uses his craft to highlight the shared similarities that unite us all. His work explores the magic found in the ordinary, capturing life in both natural and artificial settings. With each photo, Jonathan visualizes the world as he sees it—without permission, without boundaries—embracing all subjects equally as valued team members in his creative process. Jonathan’s work also honors the legacy of those who have shaped his life, including his late brother, Dr. Chinwe Wosu—physician, scholar, and human—and the beloved memory of his daughter, Lady Carolee Ngozi Wosu, MD, and his wife, Grace Wosu. Through his photography, Jonathan pays tribute to their lasting impact and continues to honor their memory in every frame.
